At the Zobek Dental Practice, we not only offer various options for missing teeth replacement, but also the option of a surgical implantation of dental implants. Implants or dental implants are special screws that represent an artificial tooth root and thus replace the missing tooth.

Depending on your state of health, we can offer the following procedures as part of implantology:

•  Replacement of a single tooth,
• replacement of several missing teeth in a gap or in a shortened natural dentition,
• implants in edentulous jaws.

Implants are very important for the stabilization of complete dentures. Complete and partial dentures replace teeth to a certain extent, both functionally and aesthetically, but the stability of dentures is always problematic. In this case, the dental implant can serve as an anchor for fixing the entire removable dental prosthesis, or several dental implants can serve as an anchor for the entire bridge.

Limitations with dental implants?

There is no age limit for dental implant placement. However, there are certain restrictions on the use of implants that are related to the general health of the patient. Implant placement is not recommended for some systemic conditions, such as severe diabetes, highly advanced osteoporosis, and blood disorders that prevent proper bone ingrowth. Heavy smoking is also not recommended.

Implant placement is no more painful than tooth extraction!

Implants are professionally implanted by our specialist, who specializes in the field of oral implantology, or a specialized oral surgeon.

Based on a precise 3D X-ray scan (image) of your teeth and jaw (also called CBCT of the jaw), an expert can advise you accordingly. He will find out how much jaw bone is still left and whether an implantation of an artificial bone or a sinus lift is necessary. The specialist determines the exact position and number of implants that are required to achieve both functional and aesthetic success. The procedure of implant placement in the jaw is carried out under local anesthesia. The implantologist cuts the gums at the site of the planned implant insertion and then drills a cavity in the bone using special drills. He plants the implant in the prepared cavity and sews the mucogingival. This procedure is followed by a 3-6 month phase of osseointegration, during which the bone grows along the surface of the implant. The second phase of implant placement can only be carried out after the ingrowth phase has been completed. The implantologist uses a laser to cut the mucogingival above the implant open and insert a part to shape the gums. At this point the prosthetic upgrade can be continued.
