Endodontic
Treatment

Our two Biolase laser systems are also carefully used during an endodontic treatment because the laser disinfects and sterilizes the main and auxiliary root canals very effectively. The laser beam destroys bacteria in inaccessible places of the root canals. As a result, endodontic treatment is more successful in the long run, meaning that it is free of complications over a longer period of time.

Endodontic treatment is usually required due to excessive carious defects, deep fillings, tooth damage, or due to a planned prosthetic treatment.

In cases where there is inflammation of the tooth nerve – pulpitis or cell death (necrosis, gangrene) – it is necessary to treat such a tooth as soon as possible so that the process does not spread to the bone tissue. In the worst case, if the tooth is not treated in time, tooth extraction can follow.

What is root canal treatment?

During root canal treatment, the dentist removes the infected dental pulp from the root canal, enlarges the canal with the help of a special tool or manually, disinfects it and inserts medicine into the canal. The last step is to seal the tooth hermetically. Dental treatment is usually done in two phases and can take several months in the event of severe inflammation or cystic processes. The root canal treatment is completed by filling or sealing the canals in the last stage.

The root canals are expanded with the help of a special tool using the VDW Reciproc Silver device, which can be used to achieve greater success in treatments.

Each treatment is completed with an x-ray.

A well healed tooth stays in our mouth for a long time and can be a good anchor for a possible future prosthetic upgrade.
